Dr. Kimmy is a double Board Certified Pediatric Hospitalist, CEO of The Doctor Coach School™️, and host of The Doctor Coach School™ Podcast. Hello everyone. Welcome to this bonus episode of the Dr. Coach School podcast. I am recording this episode so that you understand the differences between IPMD. In DCSI have gotten this question and I thought it would be really beneficial for me to just come online and record an episode so it lives here, you know, in posterity. So I can always refer folks back to this episode whenever they have questions or they're considering which program. It is right for them. So let's get into it. So if you have ever wondered how IPMD and the Doctor Coach School are different, or which one is for you, this episode will break it down. So I am gonna walk you through, you know, what the programs are, what's possible for you in each program, and really the trajectory of how I move my clients from. Developing their offer, developing their intellectual property, and signing their first client to becoming fully booked and ultimately hitting 100 K in their coaching business. I. So let's start off by talking about IPMD. Now, IPMD is my baby, but it's my newest baby. It's my newborn. It's my newborn. Whereas DCS has been around a minute. I would say she's still a toddler, she's still in taller stage, um, because there's so many more women that I am excited to impact. But we're gonna start off. By talking about IPMD, and I think talking through how I developed IPMD is going to be helpful for you when you think about whether or not IPMD is for you. So I developed IPMD after having several conversations with multiple, multiple women doctors over the years, who in the beginning they had an idea. I want to be a coach. Right? Maybe they know their niche. Most of my clients know their niche, but not all of them, right? They have a couple that they might be choosing between because they have a couple of powerful stories. In their, in their background. And so they're trying to decide which one. Right. Um, but either you have an idea, maybe you've even been certified. Right? So the ladies I spoke with, you know, they've gotten their coach certification. But they are getting in their own way, and there's multiple ways that my clients are getting in their own way. Right? So number one, they're over branding, right? They're, they're really focusing on what I call the business in the box elements. They are trying to make themselves look good on the outside in terms of. Uh, you know, having a website and branding and colors and fonts and all of those things, right? Or there's the folks who feel like because they're new, that means that their offers have to be low priced and really like entry level, right? So their beta testing, they're doing low ticket offers. They are, you know, doing. Offering coaching for free. Um, a lot of times that happens as well, or they are hiding behind the gurus, right? So they have like a mentor or a leader. Or someone that they look up to within the space who they have modeled. Right? But, but the issue is they are really trying to position themselves vis-a-vis their guru or their mentor instead of being a thought leader themselves, developing their own intellectual property. Right. And then lastly, you have the folks who, and this may be you, right? And. The only reason I can talk about this is because I did all of these things, all of the above. Right? Um, so maybe you are, your coaching business lives rent free in your head, but you haven't actually started, right? Because you're overthinking, right? So you're, you're overthinking, you're listening to podcasts, maybe even listening to this podcast, right? And you're daydreaming, you're thinking about your business, you know, you want to do it, but it feels like. Ugh. You know, I gotta make sure everything is just right. I dot all my I's and cross all my T's, right? So we have the folks who are Doctor Dreamers, so I call them, basically the distinction is Doctor Dreamers and Doctor Doers, right? So you're either dreaming your coaching business lives in your head. Or you are a doctor doer and you are doing all of the things. So when you come into IPMD, or let me backtrack. The reason I developed IPMD was because the doctor coach school, right? Is a year long program You are. Becoming a coach. You are in community with ladies who are coaching their clients, who are signing clients, who we're talking about higher level skills, such as, and we'll talk about that in a second, but we're talking about, you know, psychology, sales psychology. Um, we're talking about, um, the psychology of coaching your clients, making sure that they're actually. Achieving success. We're talking about growing your business, scaling your business to 100 K, like those are the things we're talking about. And what I noticed was if my Doctor doers and Doctor Dreamers hadn't yet signed their first client, or maybe they hadn't decided what their niche should be, or maybe they haven't, you know. They haven't put themselves out there yet. It was a big stretch for them to think about themselves being in DCS with other women who are, you know, making money and, you know, signing clients and getting fully booked and hitting 100 K, et cetera. And so IPMD is for you to become a coach, right? So the transformation in IPMD is profound inside of IPMD. IPMD is a six month program. You develop your own intellectual property, so your. Own coaching frameworks. I help you develop your own way to coach your own coaching frameworks, right? So you become the thought leader as opposed to your guru or you know, your mentor. So you develop your, your own frameworks, your own coaching tools, your own coaching methodology, and then I help you craft an offer and craft an offer in such a way that the way you craft the offer, it is. In demand. It is a demand based offer, and I have steps that I walk my clients through in order to do that. And then I help you to get out there and build demand in real time and sign your first client, right? So sign your first client. So really it's about developing an offer that is so juicy, so in tune with what your. Future clients desire and what they need, that your offer in and of itself does the selling for you. Because in the beginning, it is a it, it is a process to learn how to sell, right? But when you have an offer that can do the selling for you and makes it so powerful. So I've had several clients sign their first clients client and clients with an S inside of IPMD. And yeah, that that is the program, right? So that is for you. If you are just getting started or you've been doing all the things and it's not clicking, it's like not coming together. IPMD is for you. So let's talk through DCS, right. So the goal of D-C-S-D-C-S, the Doctor Coach School, is a certification program inside of DCS. The purpose of it is consistent sales, right? Sales mastery, coaching mastery, and messaging mastery. Now. I believe that coaching, sales, and marketing are all about helping people shift their beliefs, right? It's all about understanding what's happening in the unconscious conversations between your potential clients or your current clients, right? So this is really for you to hone your sales skills, hone your marketing skills, hone your coaching skills, and all of those go together. So. DCS is for you if you have already signed a client, right? You've signed a client in some capacity in the past, but either your sales are inconsistent or they've fallen off, or you just feel like you haven't, quote unquote, cracked the code like you don't know how you're going to get your next client, right? Like the thought of you signing your next client feels like, how's this gonna happen? I have no idea. Right? So DCS is for you, right? So if this is you, here's some of the things you may be struggling with. You may be questioning, why aren't people saying yes? And often when this happens, we revert, right? So we revert back to the things that we were doing in the beginning, right? Even though we have evidence that our offer is validated because someone has purchased it, we revert, right? So we either want to give up, right, or hide, or we wanna reduce our prices. This is, this is classic Dr. Kimmy. In 2020, IPMD was Dr. Kimmy in 2019. This is what IPMD is what I would've needed in 20 20 19, and I actually would've started making money in 20 19, 20 20 when I had signed my first client. But then it was like, kind of like crickets after that, right? I wanted to give up. I wanted to hide, or I started throwing spaghetti at the walls, doing all of the things right. So again, I revert back to like my doctor doer days, right? So it's like, let's get more branding. Let's perfect our website, let's do Facebook ads, even though I don't know how to sell anything. I don't know how to sell, but I wanna do Facebook ads. Um, let's, hire, you know, a marketing team, like all of the things, right? And really the key at this stage, right, to go from your first client to your first 100 K. The key at this stage is understanding how to. Build belief for your clients across all stages of the journey. When they first land on your post, or they first encounter your podcast right to when they're on a sales call with you to when they are your client. The purpose of DCS is to help you master all three of those levels. And they're all interconnected. They're all connected'cause it's all about. Helping your clients build belief, helping your clients see themselves at at that new point B, right, with the possibility of what they can achieve. Like that is what it's about. So it's about sales conversations that don't feel icky, sticky, and gross. It's about putting yourself out there and selling your offer with boldness and with confidence, right? It's about. Having, you know, consistent clients coming to you and being able to help those clients achieve success, right? Because one of the number one things that's gonna help you, you know, book out your coaching practice. And hit your first six figures is when your clients are actually doing the thing that you said they were gonna do, like when they are achieving the promise. The reason my business has grown year over year is because I help my clients actually achieve the promise, right? Like they actually do the thing that I say they're gonna do. And that builds so much trust for your future clients, right? When you are sharing your testimonials and sharing your experiences, or when your clients are sharing their experiences, right? So you become a really a master coach inside of DCS. And again, DCS is a certification program, right? So you are being certified in the art and the skill. Of shifting beliefs in your own unique way. Now, if you have questions about your offer, if there's some things you need to tweak, we do all of that in DCS as well, right? So we're gonna go over your offer, we're gonna help make sure that it's in demand as well. We're gonna make sure that still psychology is built into the offer, right? So some of the things that we do in IPMD, we do carry over. Into DCS, right? You're gonna be sold on yourself. You're gonna know that you're a thought leader. Like that's first and foremost. Foremost, in all of my programs, you gotta be sold on you first, right? So we do all of that in DCS as well, but it is about becoming a coach. Now, you don't have to necessarily want to be a full-time coach, I would say. The vast majority of my clients are like, they are working full time and they always wanna work full time. Like they don't necessarily see themselves stepping out of full-time coaching. Right. So I don't want you to think DCS is only for you if you want to be full-time. No. Right. Like you can just want to. Have sales and coaching mastery, right? And you get to determine what a full roster of clients is. I have a client right now in DCS who has seven clients, and that is. That is a lot when you are working full-time. So we are shifting her to a group program. We're shifting her to a group program. So in a couple months she's gonna be launching her group. I have another client who has three clients, and for her that is fully booked because she's working full-time. And then I have other clients who are part-time or they do locums so they can take on more clients. And so it really is. Up to you. Right? But what I want you to feel in DCS is I want you to feel as though, You know how to sell, like you know where your next client is coming from. It's not a guessing game. You're not like, I don't really know. I'm not really sure, I hope, right? You're like, you're no longer hoping, wishing, hoping, thinking, praying. You're selling, marketing and coaching, right? Like that's what DCS is about. So let's talk about how the two programs sort of fit together, because I do have clients that go from IPMD to. DCS, right? So IPMD is like planting your seed, right? And seeing that first sprout, right? That first little sprout, which is your first client, right? And your seed is really your program, your offer, really understanding the principles of demand, et cetera. DCS is when you are harvesting consistently and feeding others right from that harvest. So that's the best metaphor. I'm not that great with metaphors, y'all, so like, I'm actually pretty proud of this one. Like, let me just say I'm, I'm a little proud because typically my metaphors are a little bit of a hot mess, but hopefully you guys can rock with that one. I don't think that one was too bad. so the thing is, if you're listening and you are a doctor doer or a doctor dreamer, I just want you to know that you are not behind, right? You're just in a different phase. There are different phases of a coaching business and all phases. I want my programs to. Really take you across all of the phases, right? Which I also have my hair level mastermind for coaches who are scaling their businesses, and I can talk about that in another time. But that's really only for graduates of DCS. So I don't sell that on the front end as of right now. So no matter where you are in your coaching business, if you would want to work with me to learn my particular skills and how I assign clients, you'd either wanna come in in IPMD or DCS, so. Those are the differences. Those are the differences. So if you're listening to this and you're an IPMD or you're a doctor dreamer, a doctor doer, right? The, the key is to really focus on what's right in front of you, right? Like keep the, the, the goalpost or the mile marker of being in DCS ahead of you, right? Like, I wanna hit six figures, et cetera. But so sometimes we focus so heavily. On that, that we, we don't just take the next step that's right in front of us. And that is so powerful. That is so powerful. I. For those of you who have signed your first client, you're like, yeah, I wanna understand how to make money. I wanna understand how to do it consistently. I don't want it to feel like a fluke, or it's like it's just happening and it might happen, it might not. One of the things my mom always taught me was, let other people tell you no, but don't tell yourself no. Right? So don't talk yourself out of it or think that you're not going to be accepted. I will talk through in a future episode, you know, some of the things that we are looking for, but essentially it's what we talked about in this episode. I wanna make sure that you have signed at least one client, that you have a sense of who you coach, and you know what your goals are. Right, which again, you, you don't have to wanna be a full-time coach, but you do have to have a desire to master marketing, master sales, master coaching. Like you just wanna, you wanna get better at it, and you wanna know where your next clients are coming from. Like coaching matters to you. This is the thing that matters to you that you want to do. You're not dabbling, right? So, DCS is not for dabblers, right? You might be doubting, and that's okay. I got you. If you're doubting, I got you. I can help you, but if you are dabbling, DCS is not gonna be for you. And so. That's really gonna be the biggest thing that we're looking for in the application is just we wanna see you be committed, right? If you have doubts, if you have fears, it's totally normal.
